Projet B is far more than a renovation — it’s a thoughtful dialogue between historical structure and modern living, where interior design becomes a medium of storytelling. Nestled in an 18th-century building on Paris’s Left Bank, this minimalist duplex reimagined by THISTE merges contemporary elegance with architectural heritage.
This project reads like choreography in time, where the designer’s hand moves with the precision of an archaeologist and the boldness of a contemporary artist. The restoration of the original Versailles parquet is not just an aesthetic gesture — it reflects a design philosophy where the floor becomes a foundation for memory and meaning.
The reconfiguration of spatial volumes has revealed classical French enfilades — a sequence of rooms that now opens up visual depth and harmony. These newly restored sightlines create what might be called “curated vistas,” where contemporary furniture and artwork are showcased within a historical framework.
The material palette emphasizes intelligent combinations: warm oak and rich walnut express organic warmth, while travertine introduces a mineral calm, bridging classical Roman tones with modern minimalism. Glossy lacquer and soft flannel bring contrasting textures — the hard and soft, reflective and absorptive — achieving tactile balance.
Projet B powerfully demonstrates the value of refined interior design and premium renovation in any ambitious architectural project. It’s a compelling reminder that true luxury lies not only in aesthetics but in creating spaces that reflect timeless identity, emotional comfort, and intelligent planning.
